Review : Not a miracle solution, but perhaps the best rooting hormone on the market.
I work for a program that grows endangered Hawaiian plants for conservation. Part of our work involves collecting propagation material from wild plants for genetic storage, seed production, and research. Wild plants are usually much less vigorous than nursery grown plants, and we've had very low success with cuttings of certain species - for example Flueggea neowawraea (Phyllanthaceae). This species is even difficult to propagate using air layers and with many endangered species, there is little or no literature on propagation. We have found that like many other tree species, vertically oriented water sprouts root well, but this type of material is often not available on wild trees. With Clonex there is an obvious increase in our success. I would estimate that with using Dip N Gro (usually 1:8 or 1:10 for woody cuttings dipped for 5-10 seconds) we had a success rate of less than 1%.
